During Ron Case's first three terms on the Eden Prairie City Council he had a consistent record of voting for higher taxes. It's a record he can't run from, although he tries.
Case was voted off the city council in 2006, when he was soundly defeated in a run for mayor. The voters were tired of tax-raising Ron. Ron ran for one of two council seats in 2008 and was elected back onto the council, receiving the second most votes.
Late in the 2008 campaign, Case slapped some cheesy yellow "the low tax guy" stickers on his campaign signs to disguise his record. Below is a photo showing Case's yellow sticker strategy.

(It's no surprise the Case sign is placed next to two DFL candidates: The ultra-liberal Maria Ruud and the Progress-Majority-endorsed Jerry Pitzrick.)
Now that Case is running for state senate in District 42, he's going to have to come up with a better gimmick than yellow stickers to hide his record of raising taxes. Second place won't be good enough.
